Which essential oils to use during pregnancy?
We are often asked which essential oils are safe to use during pregnancy.
That is why we have selected a number of wellness products and essential oils that are good to use during pregnancy.
Use this even more sparingly than usual.
So only use half the normal dosage in a bath oil or massage oil.
We strictly advise against internal use of essential oils.
First there is a selection of essential oils that cannot be used.
This is followed by a selection of essential oils that may be used at low doses during pregnancy.
If you are sensitive to scents, it is better not to use essential oils at all during pregnancy.
When are you sensitive to odors? If you normally have to be careful with your eau de perfume, deodorant, shower gel, etc.
If you are not sensitive to essential oils and fragrances, essential oils can also help you.
Always use essential oils diluted in a base oil, bath oil, body lotion, etc. or buy our ready-made wellness products that can be found in this category.

If another supplier has more essential oils, first check carefully whether the use of the other types of essential oils is also responsible.
It is best not to use essential oils until the twelfth week of pregnancy.
Essential oils that you CANNOT use during pregnancy
We strongly advise against using these essential oils during pregnancy, as they can be harmful to the mother and the unborn child.
This applies to all menstruation-promoting essential oils in women who have a history of miscarriage and/or premature birth.

Essential oils that you can use externally from 5 months during pregnancy
- Lavender
- Mandarine
- Petitgrain
Use these essential oils in a bath or massage oil in a low dosage.
Mix 10 drops of Lavender or Mandarin essential oils with 100 ml of Apricot Kernel oil.
Always test a massage oil enriched with an essential oil on your wrist for a day to see if your skin can tolerate it. (so no red spots)
Use these essential oils against stretch marks or as a massage oil from the fifth month:
Use pure apricot kernel oil before the fifth month to prevent stretch marks.
Apply the oil to your stomach every morning and before you go to sleep.
If adverse effects occur on the skin, always consult your doctor or midwife.
