Which fragrance suits me?

The most chosen perfume oils are at the front of the list.
Make your own perfume
France is the perfume country. In France they are working 6 months to 3 years to make a nice balanced perfume. Sometimes 50 to 100 scents are processed in a perfume. In an easier perfume, about 10 to 20 scents are processed.
By combining different aromas, you create delicious scents. In perfumes, the different 'tones' are very important. See the next chapter for this: mixing scents (tones or notes). After the tones are also the fragrance groups and the scents that can be combined with each other anyway.
You can also make your own perfume with the Beauty & Care perfume oils.
Use the desired perfume oil or desired perfume oils and add it to our perfume alcohol.
Use 24 ml of pure perfume oil and 76 ml of perfume alcohol for an eau de parfum.
Add 10 to 15 ml of pure perfume oil, 10 ml of water and 76 to 80 ml of perfume alcohol for an eau de toilette.
Put the mixture in the 100 ml spray bottle and enjoy your own perfume.
Do not put this bottle in the bag to prevent leakage.
Read this information carefully before you start making your own perfume.
Five reasons to combine fragrances
- To obtain a wonderful fragrance composition
- To weaken a strong smell or to strengthen a weak smell
- To give a scent extra meaning, such as a fireplace with pine or other types of wood to indicate which type of wood is in the stove.
- To make a more expensive fragrance affordable
- To obtain complimenting effects
For example, choose a relaxing scent, tones with relaxing properties. Make up the main part of the mixture with it.
Mixture | Overtone | Mean tone | Undertone |
Invigorating | 5 drops | 4 drops | 1 drop |
Relaxing | 1 drop | 6 drops | 3 drops |
Sensual | 1 drop | 4 drops | 5 drops |
Strengthening | 8 drops | 1 drop | 1 drop |
Compile
Use between 2 and 5 oils to make your own simple eau de toilette or eau de parfum. Use 1 or 2 overtones, 1 or 2 midtones and 1 or 2 undertones.
Because it remains difficult to put together your own scent, it is useful to get an impression of your composition in advance.
For this you need:
- Your chosen scents
- Cotton swabs
- Plastic bags
- A notepad and a pen
Put a few drops of each scent on a cotton swab and then put these cotton swabs together in a plastic bag. Close it with a little air in it. Leave the whole for a while on a heater or other heat source and then smell in the bag whether you like the composition. Then adjust where necessary. Remember that it is not necessary, often not even desirable, to use the same amount of each fragrance, so experiment with that.
For example 2 cotton swabs with scent x and only 1 cotton swab with scent Y and Z or other combinations. Write down the amount of drops per scent in a notepad so you can remember what you did later. If your perfume is too fresh, add some undertone, if it's too heavy, add some middle or overtone. For a perfumer this is the reason that scents are sorted by tone. At the top are the overtones, on a middle shelf the midtones and at the bottom the undertones. A good perfume smells as one whole. The whole should be described as, for example, floral, spicy, oriental, etc.
If you are satisfied with the composition, prepare an eau de toilette or eau de parfum in a nice perfume bottle.
Eau Fraiche
An Eau Fraiche is the least concentrated with 1 - 3% essential oils or perfumes and are diluted in water and a smaller percentage of alcohol. You can smell this scent on the skin for 1 to 2 hours. These are used more in the summer and at work to get a nice scent on the skin. Eau Fraiche is ideal if you don't like a heavy perfume. Also perfect for people with sensitive skin due to the low content of alcohol and perfume. In addition, an Eau Fraiche is often cheaper than an Eau de Cologne, Eau de toilette and Eau de parfum.
Eau de cologne
An eau de cologne contains 10 to 15% water, 2 - 6% essential oils or perfumes and 79 - 88% alcohol. This fragrance stays on the skin for about 2 hours. This makes the eau de cologne a great option when you go out in the evening. This is why young people often choose an Eau de Cologne. In an Eau de cologne, fresh, light scents are usually processed with citrus oils.
Eau de Toilette
An eau de toilette consists of approximately 10% water, 10 - 15% essential oils or perfumes and 75 - 80% perfume alcohol. An eau de toilette is usually worn by men because an eau de parfum is often too strong for men. This fragrance should smell great for about 2 to 4 hours.
Because the scent is less strong than an Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette is often cheaper than an Eau de Parfum. Eau de Toilette is often recommended twice a day if you want to keep smelling the scent longer.
Eau de Parfum
An eau de parfum consists of approximately 24% essential oil and perfume and 76% perfume alcohol. Women usually use an eau de parfum because the scent otherwise does not linger long enough on women. This fragrance should smell great for about 4 to 8 hours.
Put a label on the bottle so you know what scent is in the bottle.
Done and spray!
Preferably spray the eau de toilette or eau de parfum in the air and then walk through it. This way the scent does not come directly on the skin and you are surrounded by your own scent. Mix the mixture with base oil instead of perfume alcohol if you want to use it on your skin. Use 10 drops of essential oil on 30 ml of base oil.
Scents that suit men are: woody scents, spicy, spice and fresh scents.
Fragrances that suit women are: floral, citrus, sweet and warm scents.
Perfume or Extract
This is the strongest possible form to spray a perfume on the skin. A perfume or extract consists of 20 - 40% essential oil and perfume and 60 - 80% perfume alcohol. This fragrance should smell great for about 6 to 10 hours depending on skin type. People with sensitive skin especially benefit from a perfume or extract because of the alcohol percentage that is not so high and therefore dries out the skin less quickly.
Enjoy the pure perfume oils in any desired space
Add a few drops to the water of the aroma diffuser, the aroma burner or add a few drops to a dry aroma stone and enjoy the wonderful scent in any desired room.
There are approximately 400 drops in 1 bottle of 20 ml. 1 ml is 20 drops and 20 ml x 20 drops = 400 drops of pure perfume oil. So if you only need 3 to 5 drops for a wonderful scent, then a bottle of 20 ml of pure perfume oil will last you a very long time.
So only go for larger packages than 20 ml if you use the scent a lot. The larger packages can be found if you click through to the small package at make a choice.
