What is a barley grain?
Barley grains look like small, white grains in or under the skin.
A barleycorn is a small cavity in a hair follicle.
There is hardened sebum in the cyst.
How can barley grains be removed?
The barleycorns can be removed through a small incision with a sterile needle, after which the contents can be pushed out.
Be careful around the eyes.
This is sensitive skin.
Barley grains may return after treatment.
Proceed as follows:
- Wash your hands with water and soap and dry them well.
- Soak the skin around the barley grain by placing a warm, clean, slightly damp washcloth on the skin.
- Clean the barley grain by gently dabbing it with a cotton pad and warm water.
- Carefully puncture a small hole on or next to the grain with a sterile needle or pin.
- Then you can simply press out the barley grain with two cotton balls or cotton swabs.
- Then disinfect the skin to work as hygienically as possible and to prevent new barley grains as much as possible.
Tip: If it doesn't work right away, leave the moss stitch aside and try again later.
