Extraction of essential Lemongrass oil
The Cymbopogon Flexuoses is a grass-like plant that often occurs in the (sub)tropics of Asia.
It is a perennial plant with large sugar cane-like stems and lemon-scented leaves.
The plant can grow to about 1 meter high.
Already six months after planting, the grass can be cut for the first time for steam distillation.
All aromatic grasses contain high levels of cital and geraniol that smell like a mixture of lemon and rose.
Lemongrass essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the grass in India.
1 liter of Lemongrass oil requires 50 kilos of fresh or partially dried lemongrass.
Normally the grass is dried for three days and then distilled for 1.5 hours by steam distillation.
Lemongrass oil has a bright yellow to warm yellow color.
Extraction of the Mint essential oil
The mint plant is a member of the lip flower family and grows in most of North America, Europe and Asian countries such as China, India and Japan.
Other mint species cross easily with each other, creating many hybrids and cultivars. Field mint is a very well-known type of mint.
The Mentha Arvensis is a green plant that grows up to 45 cm high and is often extracted by means of steam distillation in China or Japan.
1 liter of Mint oil requires 50 to 100 kilos of Mentha Arvensis plant material.
Mint oil has a transparent to light green color.
About the bottles
